Dr Tamer Mettyas is an experienced, Queensland trained Orthopaedic Surgeon providing care in Brisbane and the surrounding areas.
Dr Mettyas graduated from the School of Medicine, Cairo University in 1999 and went on to attain his Master’s Degree in Orthopaedics and Trauma in 2005 while furthering his career in Egypt. Following this, he became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2006 and commenced work in the United Kingdom soon after.
Tamer relocated to Australia in 2009 and after completing his specialty Orthopaedic training in Queensland in 2021, he was awarded his fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Dr Mettyas then undertook further advanced training in hand, wrist and microsurgery at Macquarie University Hospital, Sydney in 2021. This was followed by another subspeciality upper limb fellowship training in shoulder, elbow, and hand surgery at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.
Tamer prides himself on his warm and compassionate nature. He has an easygoing and personable character, deeply values his patients and is happy to see urgent cases at short notice.
Dr Mettyas holds numerous public appointments and is passionate about education and medical research.
